Managing Venues & Locations
The Venues module lets you create and maintain a directory of all the fishing venues, lakes, and locations associated with your club. Venue pages are published on your club website and can include maps, descriptions, photos, rules, and peg information.
Creating a Venue
- Go to Junior Management > Venues.
- Click New Venue.
- Complete the venue setup wizard:
- Name — The venue name as it will appear on the website.
- Overview — A rich-text description of the venue.
- Status — Draft, Review, or Published.
- Address — Full postal address with postcode.
- What3Words — Precise location reference for the access point.
- Location Pin — Map pin that members can tap to navigate.
- Photos — Upload venue images using the media library.
- Facilities — Tick boxes for available facilities (car park, disabled access, toilets, etc.).
- Rules — Any venue-specific rules (e.g. barbless hooks only, no night fishing).
- Pegs — List individual fishing pegs with their descriptions and accessibility notes.
- Add SEO details (meta title and description) to help the venue rank in search results.
- Click Save.
Venue Status
- Draft — Visible only to admins. Not published to the website.
- Review — Awaiting final approval before publishing.
- Published — Visible to all visitors on the club website.
Linking Venues to Events
When creating fishing matches, coaching sessions, or courses, you can select the venue from a dropdown. This pulls the venue's address and details into the event listing automatically.
Tide Data
For coastal or tidal venues, Clubnest can display real-time tide data from the UKHO (UK Hydrographic Office) on the venue page. Configure the tide station reference in the venue settings.
