Creating a Fishing Match

Last updated: 6 June 2025

Clubnest provides a streamlined process for organising matches. Before creating a match, it is essential to first create a venue and a league. These elements are used to group, locate, and structure your events correctly. Additionally, we strongly recommend completing a risk assessment for every venue and match, ensuring you meet appropriate safety and safeguarding standards.

Step 1: Add a Venue

Go to: Fishing Management > Venues
Each match must be linked to a venue. To add a venue:

  1. Navigate to Fishing Management > Venues
  2. Click Add New Venue
  3. Complete the following sections in the venue wizard:

Basic Information

  • Name – required
  • Overview – general description
  • Status – draft, review, or published
  • Featured Image and Gallery Images – managed via Curator

Contact & Map Details

  • Website URL, Google Maps link, What Three Words, and address

Recommendations

  • Suggested tackle and bait (rich text)

Risk Assessment (Highly Recommended)

  • Static and dynamic assessments
  • Includes severity, cause, mitigation, and date
  • Submitted by auto-filled from the logged-in user

SEO Settings

  • Customise metadata for search engine indexing
Once completed, click Save to make the venue available when adding matches.

Step 2: Add a League

Go to: Fishing Management > Leagues

Leagues allow you to group matches under common banners, such as seasonal series or age-specific competitions.

To add a league:

  1. Navigate to Fishing Management > Leagues
  2. Click Add League
  3. Fill in:
    • Name (required)
    • Description
    • Start and End Dates

Click Save to finish.

Step 3: Create a Match

Go to: Fishing Management > Fishing Matches

Once your venue and league are in place:

  1. Click Add Match
  2. Complete the multi-step wizard:
