How to Manage Testimonials

This guide explains how to manage testimonials using the ClubNest Dashboard, including how users can submit their own testimonials from their account area, and how administrators can review and publish them to appear on the public-facing website.

What Are Testimonials?

Testimonials are reviews, comments, or endorsements submitted by members or participants. They help promote trust, highlight success stories, and give new visitors a sense of what your club or organisation is like.

User-Submitted Testimonials

Users can submit testimonials directly from their User Dashboard.

When submitting, they are asked to provide:

  • A Title for their testimonial
  • The testimonial text (their review)
  • Their name
  • A star rating (1 to 5 stars)
  • (Optional) The date of the review

All submitted testimonials are marked as draft by default. They will not appear on the website until approved by a club administrator.

Step 1: Access Testimonials in ClubNest Dashboard

  1. Log in to the ClubNest Dashboard.
  2. In the left-hand menu, go to Website Content.
  3. Click on Testimonials.
  4. You will see a list of all submitted testimonials, including their current status.

If any testimonials are awaiting review, you will see a badge showing the number of drafts next to the menu item.

Step 2: Review a Submitted Testimonial

Each testimonial includes the following:

  • Title – Headline or summary provided by the user.
  • Person’s Name – Name of the person who submitted it.
  • Review Text – The full testimonial message.
  • Star Rating – Visual star display based on the rating (from 1 to 5).
  • Status – Draft, Approved, or Rejected.

You can click on a testimonial to view its full content.

Step 3: Approve or Reject Testimonials

From the testimonial list:

  • Click Approve to publish the testimonial on the website.
  • Click Reject to mark it as rejected. It will remain hidden from the public.

Only testimonials with a status of approved will be shown on the frontend testimonial blocks or pages.

Step 4: Create a Testimonial Manually (Optional)

You can also manually add testimonials from within the dashboard:

  1. Click the Create button.
  2. Fill out the form:
    • Title
    • Testimonial Text
    • Person’s Name
    • Star Rating
    • Review Date (optional)
  3. Click Save to submit.
  4. Make sure to change the status to approved if you want it live on the site.

Best Practices

  • Only approve testimonials that are respectful, relevant, and reflect the values of your club.
  • Encourage members and parents to share positive feedback after matches, coaching sessions, or community events.
  • Avoid editing a user's testimonial unless necessary—maintain authenticity.
  • Keep a mix of ratings and stories to build a balanced and trustworthy testimonials section.
